    What You'll Do Here:

    1) Support and develop an agenda of operational excellence:

    • Lead critical analysis and recommendations on long-range projects within the Higher Education and Skills Business
    • Define, structure, and execute operational initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing actionable recommendations
    • Lead the product teams through process innovation and continuous improvement
    • On projects, lead analysts to design and execute for outcomes

     

    2) Engage deeply in the product organization, among others:

    • Form a deep understanding of Cengage Learning’s products, processes, systems/tools, personnel, and strategic direction
    • Approaches and solutions will often include a direct partnership with front-line teams, process documentation, training plans, and engagement through implementation
    • Along the way, look for new opportunities to explore for increased effectiveness and efficiency, participating directly in an environment of continuous improvement and process innovation

    Skills You Will Need Here:

    Skills and Experiences, You Will Need Here:

    • Four-year college degree in business or related field required
    • Leadership experience plus 5-years of dynamic work history including within a professional services organization (consulting, corp. dev, investment banking, OR product operations)
    • Must work well in a matrix environment across multiple groups and levels
    • Is a self-starter, analytical, and results-oriented; able to prioritize across multiple projects
    • Demonstrated success in data analysis, managing multi-discipline stakeholders, driving complex projects from conception to implementation
    • Strong writing and verbal skills; facile simplifying complex analysis for senior audiences
       

    Skills and Experiences, That Are Preferred:

    • An MBA or a master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, System Dynamics, or related field(s)
    • Previous Operational Consulting experience at a top Consulting Firm (ex. Booz, Accenture, A.T. Kearney, Deloitte, Bain) or like boutique firms
