The Sales Assistant will work specifically for the National Geographic Learning, K-12 school group within Cengage. He/She will support all aspects of the sales team by providing assistance to the Sales Leaders and sales consultants in the area of arranging travel and organizing meetings and ordering samples and materials. He/she will be responsible for the execution of regional exhibits, regional/state bids and contracts and other day-to-day departmental activities. While one sales region will be a primary focus, the Sales Assistant will provide support to other national sales efforts as needed.
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of two years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, flexibility, product knowledge, problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge and experience with Adobe CS, experience with CRM systems, ability to multitask and prioritize, work well in a team environment, ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment, and financial and/or accounting skills. Some heavy lifting will be experienced.
