    What You'll Do Here:

    The Sales Assistant will work specifically for the National Geographic Learning, K-12 school group within Cengage. He/She will support all aspects of the sales team by providing assistance to the Sales Leaders and sales consultants in the area of arranging travel and organizing meetings and ordering samples and materials.  He/she will be responsible for the execution of regional exhibits, regional/state bids and contracts and other day-to-day departmental activities. While one sales region will be a primary focus, the Sales Assistant will provide support to other national sales efforts as needed.


    • Project manages all regional events, including securing space, site services, travel logitstics and budgeting for all regional exhibits and sales meetings. Routinely meet with team to ensure accuracy and report out schedule/calendar on regular basis.
    • Manage all day to day sales related correspondence to sales consultants and customers, staff and warehouse to ensure personalized service and smooth operations.
    • Manage orders in CRM adering to approval policies and ensuring on time delivery.
    • Directly work with National Geographic Explorers and authors for special presentations/conferences/dinners; coordinate flight/hotel and payment arrangements and ensure explorer/author is provided with all logistic information for events.
    • Project manages all creative and marketing requests to support the sales region.
    • Maintains responsibility for clerical tasks including photocopying, shipping, filing, mailings, preparation of adoption samples, and all correspondence.
    • Assist with expenditures for region by reviewing, submitting and approving per diem and author payment forms and any regional invoices
    • Assists Sales Leaders by organizing all meeting and travel needs.

    Skills You Will Need Here:

    Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of two years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    Knowledge & Skill Requirements

    Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, flexibility, product knowledge, problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge and experience with Adobe CS, experience with CRM systems, ability to multitask and prioritize, work well in a team environment, ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment, and financial and/or accounting skills.  Some heavy lifting will be experienced.
