What You'll Do Here:

As a Systems Analyst, you will work closely with the business and technical teams that are responsible for Cengage’s ed2go product line. As a Systems Analyst, you’ll need to understand the business needs and ensure that there is integration between business and technology.  You’ll need to understand the software development lifecycle and have strong analytical skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis for complex, high stakes and enterprise-wide projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of Technical Product Managers, Business and Technology stakeholders to understand user needs and project requirements 
  • Augment user stories with technical system details to support estimation and to make them consumable by Software Engineers and QA
  • Collaborate with Engineering and/or Architecture to develop user workflows and system diagrams
  • Work with User Experience (UX) Designers to review recommend changes to approve user interface designs, to ensure compliance with requirements, functional specifications and technical design
  • Work with Software Engineers to answer questions and remove blockers, to ensure sprint goals are met
  • Partner with Engineering and QA teams to participate in Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing
  • Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to understand and address inter-project dependencies; resolving problems and recommending actions
  • Provide process and business domain guidance to less experienced team members
  • Ensure system documentation is complete and up to date by working with team members to develop release notes, communicate new features, and update system documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported errors in accordance with defined SLA’s

Skills You Will Need Here:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years experience as a System Analyst.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with programming languages.
  • Demonstrated expertise with writing detailed requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp system architecture inter-dependencies.
  • Working experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools.
  • Prior experience building consensus within and across cross-functional project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, balancing competing priorities and managing several time-sensitive projects with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience or interest in working on digital eLearning solutions
  • Familiarity with Digital Marketing concepts, including Search Engine Optimization, Email Marketing and User Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent focus.
